Malaysia (Penang) – In March last year Unimed students won the gold medal in WINTEX world event in bandung and on this occasion Unimed students again won the achievement in the international arena of Asia Innovation Show (AIS) 2018. The International Competition event was held for 2 days starting from 27 – 28 April 2018 at Autrium Gurney Paragon Mall, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.
The Asia Innovation Show is an international platform that serves as a platform to evoke a culture of researching and innovating for the younger generation in the form of competitions and exhibitions. This event also serves as a liaison between academia and industry to expand the creativity and innovation of participants from different schools and institutions in Asian countries so that later the participants can be useful in the community. AIS 2018 was attended by 150 participants.
In the event of AIS 2018 Unimed Students managed to get gold medal besides Unimed students also get Special Award from Human Capital Innovation and Social Engagement (HCISE) Special Interest Group. Achievement is obtained from the innovation named TOBASTA. TOBASTA is an innovative anti-bacterial air-filtering and anti-pollution air filter made from natural fibers of banana and tobacco stems. TOBASTA is an innovation of Ratih Dwi Fadilah (Chemistry 2014), Rismahwati (Chemistry 2014), Meysy Deviani Putri (English Education 2015), Elpida Sari (Chemistry 2014), Amirul Hazmi Hamdan (Counseling Counsel 2015) , Mighty Rambe (Accounting 2015), M Ibnu Rosyid (Pending Automotive Engineering 2015).
Different Rector Unimed when hearing this exciting news give thanks and feel proud of the achievement of Unimed students who again managed to score the achievement in the international arena “I am very proud and happy for the achievements of Unimed students in AIS 2018.
