MYANMAR – After successfully donating 2 gold medals in the wushu sports, FIK students Unimed won 2 bronze medals in the karate sports category of individuals and teams in the prestigious international event at the XIX Asean University Games in 2018 held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. The event is held December 10-20 2018.
ASEAN University Games (AUG) is a biennial sports event involving athletes from universities in ASEAN member countries, such as Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Timor Leste under the auspices of the committee ASEAN Student Sports (AUSC).
The total achievement of the Indonesian team won 44 gold medals and 39 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals. Unimed managed to donate 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals for Indonesia.
Widodo Febrianto donated 2 bronze medals for individual and team karate categories.
While in a different place, the Dean of FIK Dr. Budi Valianto, M. Pd. took pride and appreciated FIK students who succeeded in donating bronze medals to the karate sports branch. “Congratulations to Widodo Febrianto who won the bronze medal, hopefully this achievement will motivate other students. We will continue to improve and encourage the achievements of students both nationally and internationally. “To realize Unimed World College University which can compete at international level especially in the field of sports,” said Dr. Budi Valianto, M. Pd.
